About Oremus Mercy

In December 2015, while on a road trip around many parts of Mexico, we stopped at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City. During that time, we were looking for something better to get involved with, we were looking for something that would allow us to work from home, take care of our young family, visit our grandchildren frequently and support as many charities as possible. Since that day; God has bestowed on us the blessings we prayed about. Now, nearly 4 years later, we happily operate an international business with customers in many foreign countries. Thank you LORD, you are always so good to us!! The Torres Family

Our History

In the early 1980s, amidst the tranquil surroundings of Santa Clarita, California, a small family-owned business embarked on a spiritual journey that would shape the lives of countless faithful individuals. Oremus Mercy, a company dedicated to wholesaling religious products and accessories, was born out of a deep passion for faith, devotion, and the desire to connect believers with meaningful religious artifacts.

The founders, Maria and John Davis, devout members of their local parish, recognized a need within their community for a convenient and reliable source of high-quality religious products. Their vision was to create a haven for believers, where they could acquire items that would enrich their spiritual lives and strengthen their relationship with God.

In 1982, armed with their unwavering faith and entrepreneurial spirit, the Davis family opened the doors of Oremus Mercy for the first time. The name “Oremus Mercy” was inspired by the Latin phrase “Oremus,” meaning “let us pray,” and “mercy,” symbolizing the divine compassion and forgiveness central to many religious teachings. It perfectly encapsulated the essence of their mission.

Initially, Oremus Mercy operated out of a modest storefront, offering a limited range of religious products such as rosaries, crucifixes, and prayer books. However, the Davis family’s unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction and their genuine passion for faith quickly garnered attention. Word spread throughout the region, and the company began to attract customers from various denominations and faith traditions.

With the growing demand for their products, Oremus Mercy soon outgrew its original space. In 1990, the company relocated to a larger facility, enabling them to expand their product offerings and accommodate a wider array of religious traditions. Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, and other denominations found solace in the store’s diverse collection of religious statues, candles, jewelry, books, and sacramental items.

As the internet revolutionized the way businesses operated, Oremus Mercy adapted and launched its online platform in 2005. This digital expansion allowed the company to reach a global audience, serving faithful customers far beyond the borders of Santa Clarita. Through their user-friendly website, individuals from every corner of the world could now access the extensive selection of religious products offered by Oremus Mercy.

Over the years, Oremus Mercy has remained true to its founding principles, valuing both faith and community. The Davis family actively engages with local parishes, churches, and religious organizations, fostering strong relationships and supporting various charitable endeavors. Their commitment to philanthropy and giving back to the community has become an integral part of the company’s identity.

As Oremus Mercy celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2022, the company stands as a beacon of faith and devotion, continually striving to fulfill the spiritual needs of individuals and religious communities worldwide. With its headquarters in Santa Clarita, California, and a thriving online presence, Oremus Mercy remains steadfast in its mission to provide wholesale religious products and accessories that inspire and deepen the spiritual lives of countless believers.
